Based in Singapore, Punita serves on several global corporate boards, including DBS Bank In Singapore, Carlsberg A.S in Denmark, and Cipla Pharmaceuticals in India. Having sat on over 7 listed company boards over the last decade, she brings a deep understanding of varied business models and people management skills. Reflecting the latter, she sits on the Nomination and Remuneration committees on each of her boards, including that of Cipla which she has chaired for the last 4 years.​

With a strong orientation towards B2C businesses and exceptional strategic and organizational-building skills, Punita is a high-calibre professional with over 35 years of experience in Leadership, Strategy, & Marketing. Having worked in executive roles in India & China with PepsiCo and Coca-Cola, and later having had significant advisory experience with start ups and SMEs, her work experience spans multiple disciplines, geographies and cultures. As a distinguished business leader she won many accolades, was chosen one of India’s top 20 Business Women by Business Today in 2006, and awarded Corporate Woman of the Year in 2009 by the Indian FICCI Women’s Organization.​

Building talent and grooming leaders is Punita’s personal passion and she has undertaken several Leadership Coaching assignments for CEO/CXO levels. Between 2014-18 she was on Korn Ferry’s Selected Coaches list offered by their Talent Development team to their clients, where she coached senior executives from large MNCs, including Colgate Palmolive, Sky TV and Multiples PE. Upon moving to Singapore, she has been working with SMEs sponsored by EDB in the Enterprise Leadership Program and has coached a number of SME Founders/CEOs in Singapore. In the words of one of her mentees, she is “ completely able to integrate with both local and expat cultures, adapting fluidly between both, and able to get to the heart of the problem in a piercing yet empathetic manner”.​

Punita did her Masters in Business Administration from IIM Kolkatta and her Bachelor of Economics from St Stephen’s College in New Delhi. An intellectually curious and people-oriented person, she finds joy in helping people flourish and become the best versions of themselves.​
